Here's a stalk of celery with unbelievable inflation. It's nearly $5,000!
Spoiler alert: It's a designer handbag
It seems ludicrous but it’s happened. Basic grocery items — such as a stalk of celery — have become a muse for luxury fashion brands.
Italian luxury house Moschino has launched a collection of pricey handbags that could easily fool anyone into thinking they’re edible grocery products.
There’s a celery-inspired Sedano clutch, priced at $4,995. The very realistic-looking handcrafted leaves and branches on it are made from leather. The brand said the clutch is meant to symbolize “Moschino's irreverent spirit.”
Who doesn’t love a crispy baguette? But this one, also from Moschino, won’t ever go stale.
The brand’s baguette-shaped clutch is priced at $1,295.
Staying with the bread-themed inspiration, Moschino rolled out a “Rosetta” clutch to mimic a bread roll. It costs $840.
Moschino fans over the years have come to expect quirky and fun drops from the fashion house. Among them, it sold fragrance in bottles shaped like household cleaning products and created a McDonald’s-themed fashion collection.
