π΄ Sleep to the soothing sound of KFC fried chicken π π€
Who knew that the sound of chicken being fried can soothe you into a slumber. That zany discovery has created an unlikely collaboration between KFC and sleep wellness brand, Hatch.
Was the internet behind this idea? Yes, of course.
Hatch said it followed up on an internet rumor that the sound of rain falling was almost identical to the sleep-inducing sound of frying chicken. To test it out, Hatch, which produces sleep audio content, spent time at KFCβs headquarters and test kitchen in Louisville, Kentucky to record sound of the chicken frying process.

"When we kept seeing social media posts about the similarity between frying chicken and rain, we decided to make the absolute best version of that audio,β Eric Pallotta, chief marketing officer at Hatch, said in a statement. "And who better than the OG fried chicken experts themselves, KFC, to do it with.β
The partnership has hatched a new "Kentucky Fried Chicken Rain" content channel with custom sound to captivate ASMR enthusiasts and to help induce sleep. Itβs available on Hatchβs Restore 2Β smart sleep devices (with a Hatch+ premium subscription) and on the Hatch for SleepΒ and KFC YouTube channels,Β as well as the Hatch for Sleep SpotifyΒ page.
Quirky collabs are in KFCβs DNA. Proof: There was a very limited-edition KFC chicken bucket that doubled as a Bluetooth photo printer. Yep.
Or, how about the KFC-Crocs that looked like a bucket of fried chicken, a KFC chicken-scented fire log for the holiday season, even KFC-branded sunscreen.
KFC isnβt alone in embracing unconventional, even bizarre, marketing campaigns. More brands are thinking completely outside the box β Thank you TikTok β in hopes of striking viral marketing gold to captivate more younger consumers and turn them into fans.
