Trader Joe's "Mystery pack" totes cause a stir
Be careful about uttering the words “Trader Joe’s” and “tote bags” together, and aloud. That combination has a history of triggering a euphoric viral frenzy.
Back in March, Trader Joe’s rolled out its mini canvas logo tote bags in a variety of colors. The bags quickly sold out in Trader Joe’s stores, but popped up again online where people were quickly reselling them for hundred of dollars.
So the popular low-priced food store chain, with a cult-like fanbase, restocked the mini canvas tote bags a few months later in September. Once again, people went nuts over them.
Now, Trader Joe’s has resurfaced another popular bag offering just in time for the holidays. It’s the Trader Joe’s “Mystery Pack.”
Hidden inside a large brown paper bag (priced at $2.99) are three unique Trader Joe’s reusable tote bags, with each bag depicting a design from a different city or state where the company has its stores. The mystery is that you don’t know which bags are in your pack. Several fans of the mystery packs took to social media explaining how they strive to collect as many different bags as they can and even trade bags with others to grow their own collection.
