Norwegian outdoor high-end lifestyle brand Amundsen Sports delivers a perfect dose of experiential retailing every Saturday and Sunday at its store in New York City’s Soho neighborhood.
Walk into the store on a chilly winter weekend and you’re greeted by the warm, sweet and heavenly aroma of waffles freshly made-to-order and delivered warm on a plate to customers as they peruse displays of cozy and classic Nordic-design wool sweaters, jackets, flannel shirts, bags and blankets.
Why waffles? The store staff explained that in Norway, eating waffles after a strenuous outdoor hike is a popular tradition. “We wanted to bring that aspect of Norway into our stores here in the US,” a store employee told Bagable.com.
